12 Shot; 2 Killed

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Democrat-run Chicago has seen a new bout of violence this week, as at least 12 people were shot, with two of them dying of their wounds, according to local authorities.

In one incident early Saturday morning, a confrontation on the city’s South Side escalated to fatal violence, ABC7 reports.

The Chicago Police Department revealed that the conflict occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the 7400-block of South State Street in the Park Manor neighborhood, near a Maxwell Street Polish restaurant.

The specifics of whether the shooting occurred inside the establishment remain unclear. During the altercation, a 30-year-old man sustained a fatal chest wound.

The assailant fled the scene in a northbound SUV on State Street.

There were no other reported casualties, and as of now, no arrests have been made. This case is currently being investigated as a homicide by CPD Area One detectives.

Approximately an hour before this incident, another shooting took place on the city’s Southwest Side.

Police were called to the scene on the 6200-block of South Campbell Avenue in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood at about 3:16 a.m., where they discovered a man, estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, with two gunshot wounds to his back.

A witness reported that the shots were fired from a moving vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, and once again, no suspects have been detained as investigations continue.

Another tragic event unfolded Friday night in Woodlawn, where a man was found dead with a gunshot wound inside a crashed car.

At approximately 7:20 p.m., a passerby alerted police to a vehicle that had collided with a wall on the 6700-block of South Woodlawn Avenue.

The male driver, who had sustained a chest wound, succumbed to his injuries at the University of Chicago Medical Center. No arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

Later the same evening, two men were shot while outside on the city’s Far South Side.

Around 9:50 p.m., in the Longwood Manor neighborhood on the 9600-block of South Loomis Street, a 31-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his face and shoulder and was reported to be in fair condition following hospital treatment.

Additionally, a 27-year-old man received multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and is in critical condition.

The victims were unable to provide details about the shooter or the circumstances of the incident. This shooting is also under investigation by CPD Area Two detectives.

This recent surge in violence follows a particularly brutal weekend the prior week, when at least 31 individuals were shot, six fatally, throughout Chicago.
