66 Prior Arrests Before He Did THIS!?

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In an appalling and sickening demonstration of the failure of the US criminal justice system, a businessman and father of three young children has been murdered after a street argument by a career criminal with 66 prior arrests.

38-year-old Christopher Wright was on his way to his 20th high school class reunion when he was shot and killed by 57-year-old Darryl Theophilus Roberts, also known as “Too Tall.”

The murder occurred in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee, last Thursday night and was caught on surveillance video, the local police have announced.

The authorities haven’t released the footage. However, it shows Wright arguing with Roberts and another male, The Daily Caller reports, citing The New York Post.

Wright can be seen turning around to say something, but Roberts came up to him and shot him in the head.

The suspect escaped, while the victim, a small business owner whose third child was born several weeks ago, died in hospital shortly after that.

Roberts was caught on Friday and charged with first-degree murder, with his bond set at $5 million, WTVC reports.

According to Chattanoogan.com, the murder suspect was never jailed for more than six months over any of his previous crimes, even though he had been arrested 66 times.

Roberts’ criminal record began in the late 1990s and contains multiple felonies such as “attempted first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, possession of marijuana for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.”

The Post points out that one of his arrests was for a 2010 home invasion in which he shot six times through a bedroom door, miraculously failing to strike the one adult and four children behind it.

Baylor School, Wright’s high school, featured the victim in a promotional video several years back.

“The Baylor School community is heartbroken to learn of the sudden death of Christopher Wright ’03, who would have celebrated his 20th class reunion this weekend, school president Chris Angel said.

Wright’s third child was born two months ago. A GoFundMe page for his family has already raised over $400,000 for his “three children and their educational pursuits and future obligations.”
