Another 1,000 Set to be AXED!

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – As part of efforts to trim government waste, President Trump’s EPA will slash its bloated workforce, cutting over 1,000 skilled scientists.

The agency plans to eliminate its scientific research office and redistribute essential personnel to streamline operations while meeting the administration’s budget goals.

The EPA’s Office of Research and Development faces significant restructuring under Administrator Lee Zeldin’s plan to cut 65% of the agency’s budget.

Up to 1,155 employees – including chemists, biologists, and toxicologists – could be laid off, representing 75% of the research program’s staff.

These reductions align with President Trump’s broader initiative to reduce federal government size and increase efficiency across departments.

The plan involves dissolving the research office, which currently has 1,540 positions, and reassigning some remaining staff to other parts of the agency.

The proposal has been presented to the White House for review, though final decisions have not yet been made.

EPA spokeswoman Molly Vaseliou emphasized that the agency remains committed to its core mission despite the changes.

“We are committed to enhancing our ability to deliver clean air, water and land for all Americans,” Vaseliou stated.

She added, “While no decisions have been made yet, we are actively listening to employees at all levels to gather ideas on how to increase efficiency and ensure the EPA is as up to date and effective as ever.”

The restructuring reflects the administration’s commitment to fiscal responsibility. All spending items over $50,000 now require approval from Elon Musk’s DOGE, ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.

Predictably, Democrats and environmental activists have attacked the plan. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) stated, “Eliminating it is illegal” and accused the administration of “putting their polluter buddies’ bottom lines over the health and safety of Americans.”

These criticisms ignore the administration’s commitment to maintaining essential environmental protections while eliminating wasteful spending.

Left-wing groups continue to mischaracterize the administration’s actions. Ticora Jones from the Natural Resources Defense Council claimed Trump’s EPA “yet again is putting polluters over people.”

However, supporters of the plan note that many of the EPA’s scientific functions have become politicized, producing research that justifies expanding regulations rather than focusing on genuine environmental risks.

Moreover, the restructuring fulfills President Trump’s campaign promises to drain the swamp and reduce the size of government.

By streamlining operations and eliminating unnecessary positions, the EPA can focus on its core mission without the bureaucratic bloat that has characterized the agency for decades.

This move follows similar efficiency-focused restructuring across federal agencies as the administration works to reduce government spending and eliminate regulations that hamper American businesses.

The debate on its merits continues as the proposal awaits White House endorsement. Critics argued that this might be a short-term budgetary win but a strategic loss for national and ecological health.

The decision underway ultimately questions whether America will protect its citizens and natural resources or yield to the influence of corporate polluters.
