AOC Wants to Impeach WHO?!

( – In a pathetic display of the left’s fury mixed with impotence, radical leftist US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has declared that she would initiate impeachment proceedings against at least one Supreme Court Justice following the Court’s opinion that partially grants Donald Trump executive immunity.

AOC’s reaction came after on Monday, the Supreme Court decided that the former president enjoyed immunity for his official acts as president but not for unofficial ones, amid felony allegations that he tried to reverse the outcome of the 2020 election.

A prominent progressivist figure within the House Oversight Committee, Ocasio-Cortez articulated that the decision contradicts a fundamental principle of America’s constitutional framework: that no person is exempt from the law.

This situation, she argues, could potentially lead the nation towards autocratic rule, The Hill reports.

“Today’s ruling represents an assault on American democracy. It is up to Congress to defend our nation from this authoritarian capture,” she asserted on the social media platform X.

“I intend on filing articles of impeachment upon our return,” the far-left legislator added.

Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) did not specify which justices she aims to impeach.

Her office had not provided further details in response to inquiries as of Monday.

This move mirrors the disapproval voiced by other Democrats and legal analysts in response to the Supreme Court’s conclusion that Trump is immune from prosecution for actions deemed “official” during his tenure as President.

This ruling comes as Trump is confronted with four felony charges connected to his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results—election he lost to President Biden—and his involvement in the events of January 6, when his supporters violently breached the Capitol in an unsuccessful effort to prevent the certification of Biden’s win.

“The Framers of the Constitution envisioned a democracy governed by the rule of law and the consent of the American people,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) remarked.

“They did not intend for our nation to be ruled by a king or monarch who could act with absolute impunity,” he added.

In stark contrast, Trump’s Republican supporters, who have accused Biden of exploiting the Justice Department to undermine a political rival, celebrated the decision as a necessary safeguard that protects presidents from vindictive political pursuits.

“The President of the United States must have immunity, like Members of Congress and federal judges, which is necessary for any presidency to function properly,” stated Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), chair of the GOP conference.

The Supreme Court left undefined the criteria for what constitutes an “official” action, deferring this determination to lower courts. This decision implies that a final resolution is unlikely before the upcoming November election.
