(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a humiliating admission showing how much he has been denigrated by his own party, President Joe Biden has confessed that he was forced by Democrats to quit the 2024 presidential race to the benefit of his veep, Kamala Harris.

In his first interview after withdrawing from the race, Biden characterized himself as a “transition president.”
He disclosed that his decision to exit was driven by concerns voiced by his party members, who feared his continuation might jeopardize Democratic Congressional seats, Politico reports.
During a segment on “CBS Sunday Morning” hosted by Robert Costa, Biden expressed that his presence in the race might have diverted attention from other candidates, notably mentioning Nancy Pelosi.
“What happened was a number of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought that I was gonna hurt them in the races. And I was concerned if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic,” Biden articulated, emphasizing the potential distractions concerning Pelosi’s involvement.
“I thought it’d be a real distraction,” he added.
The president elaborated that these concerns, combined with his perception of being a “transition president,” were pivotal in his decision to halt his reelection campaign.
This decision followed a particularly poor debate performance that prompted several Democrats to urge Biden to concede the leadership role, particularly as he began trailing former President Donald Trump in polls.
“When I ran the first time, I thought of myself as being a transition president. I can’t even say how old I am. It’s hard for me to get it outta my mouth,” Biden recounted.
“But things got moving so quickly, it — didn’t happen,” he added.
Furthermore, Biden announced an upcoming campaign tour in Pennsylvania alongside Governor Josh Shapiro, indicating a strategic collaboration to secure electoral victories in pivotal states.
“We have got to win Pennsylvania, my original home state. He and I are puttin’ together a campaign tour in Pennsylvania. And I’m gonna do whatever Kamala thinks I can do to help most,” Biden declared.
This campaign initiative follows reports from Politico indicating that Vice President Kamala Harris, who had included Shapiro on her shortlist for running mates, seeks Biden’s influential presence in areas key to the 2020 victory, aiming to appeal particularly to older white voters.
Biden’s schedule post-Democratic National Convention includes strategic appearances designed to maximize impact in critical states such as Pennsylvania.
In his critique of Donald Trump, he used some of his most forceful language yet, questioning the likelihood of a peaceful power transition should Trump win.
