Biden Slams Illegal Alien Law?!

Joe Biden

( – In a new move in favor of surrendering the United States to illegal aliens, Joe Biden has decisively rejected a legislative proposal that mandated U.S. citizenship verification for federal election voter registration.

The administration issued a statement expressing strong opposition to the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, sponsored by Representative Chip Roy (R-TX).

The bill, poised for a House vote under Republican control, faced leftist criticism for lacking necessity, The Daily Wire reports.

“It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in Federal elections — it is a Federal crime punishable by prison and fines. The alleged justification for this bill is based on easily disproven falsehoods,” the president’s statement said.

It further detailed punitive measures for fraudulent voting and highlighted existing state protocols that effectively prevent such offenses.

The statement also criticized the potential repercussions of the SAVE Act.

“This bill would do nothing to safeguard our elections, but it would make it much harder for all eligible Americans to register to vote and increase the risk that eligible voters are purged from voter rolls,” it declared.

Although noncitizens can participate in local elections in select areas, including Washington, D.C., and a few states, proponents of the bill argue its necessity in strengthening election integrity amidst border security concerns.

Representative Roy, addressing his social media followers, underscored the bill’s intention.

“Federal law currently PROHIBITS states from verifying citizenship status during registration for federal elections. The SAVE Act requires proof of citizenship to register and would remove non-citizens from voter rolls. What are Democrats fearful of? This is basic stuff, you would think,” Roy said.

Opposition from Democratic House leaders was equally stern, emphasizing the restrictive implications of requiring passports as the sole identification for voter registration, as reported by Axios.

They argued that the legislation would unduly burden Americans and complicate the responsibilities of election officials.

Furthermore, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) endorsed the SAVE Act, citing a loophole in the National Voter Registration Act that permits voter self-certification of citizenship, which he argues undermines electoral integrity.

His report pointed to instances of noncitizens inadvertently included on voter rolls.

Concluding the administration’s position, the statement reaffirmed the efficacy of current laws in preventing noncitizen participation in federal elections and reiterated Biden’s commitment to upholding secure, equitable voting rights.

It also noted the administration’s encouragement for Congress to deliberate on Democrat voting reform proposals and the stalled bipartisan border deal.
