(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – You know the economy is terrible when hard-working Americans report they are having to dig into the savings they have been putting aside for retirement just to pay for the basics of everyday life like food and gas.
But, that’s exactly what’s happening and, from the look of things, it is only going to get worse in the near future.
And, rightly, most Americans blame Biden’s policies as he seems far more interested in pursuing “green energy” and “sustainable agriculture” than in helping average Americans make ends meet.
Two hard-hitting examples – both from our friends at the Daily Caller.
First:
“U.S. gas prices are rising at a record pace as sanctions placed on Russia have threatened the global oil markets and refineries are struggling to keep up with demand.
“The average price per gallon of unleaded gasoline jumped to $3.92 Saturday, according to AAA. A week ago, drivers paid about 36 cents less on average per gallon. One month ago, drivers paid about 49 cents less on average per gallon, and one year ago, they paid $1.17 less.”
Second:
“Food prices across the world hit record highs in February, skyrocketing by 20.7% compared to a year ago, the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) said Friday…
“Most of the data was compiled before Russia invaded Ukraine, according to the FAO. This could increase costs even more since Russia and Ukraine account for about 76% of the world’s exports of sunflower oil, according to the U.S. Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).”
Bottom line: Just as Americans are starting to plan their family summer road trip, the price of gas is skyrocketing – with no end in sight – and the cost of groceries is equally challenging.
For many families, the desire to eat out now and then is no longer doable as restaurants raise prices to keep pace with the rising food costs they must pay to offer their meals.
