(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a bombshell finding exposing long-suspected horrific actions by Andrew Cuomo, the disgraced former Democrat governor of New York has been found to have been involved first-hand in the coverup of COVID-19 nursing home deaths in March 2020.
Cuomo was directly involved in editing a government report that underreported COVID deaths linked to his March 2020 order, which required nursing homes to accept coronavirus-positive patients.
This finding was revealed by a congressional panel, National Review reports.
In July 2020, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) issued a report blaming nursing homes for the coronavirus spread within their facilities.
This report was substantially modified by Cuomo administration officials, according to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus pandemic, which released a memo on this matter Monday.
“The Cuomo Administration is responsible for recklessly exposing New York’s most vulnerable population to COVID-19. Today’s memo holds Mr. Cuomo and his team accountable for their failures and provides the most detailed and comprehensive accounting of New York’s pandemic-era wrongdoing,” stated US Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), chairman of the subcommittee.
The conclusions in the memo are supported by almost 555,000 pages of documents and more than 50 hours of sworn testimony.
Several top officials from the Cuomo administration, including advisor Jim Malatras, were involved in the report’s production.
Malatras testified that Cuomo personally reviewed and edited the document multiple times.
His account aligns with details from an impeachment report presented to New York’s state assembly judiciary committee in November 2021.
Malatras also mentioned that Cuomo communicated his instructions through various aides and handwritten notes, despite Cuomo’s denial of any involvement in creating the report.
In June 2020, Cuomo directed one of his assistants to commission the drafting of the report as a response to the criticism his nursing home directive was facing.
This directive had mandated that senior-care facilities admit COVID-positive patients from hospitals to reduce hospital load.
Cuomo is scheduled to testify publicly on Tuesday about the directive and the alleged coverup of the death toll. The directive led to over 9,000 COVID-positive patients being admitted to nursing homes.
In an email, Cuomo’s assistant, Stephanie Benson, referred to the directive as the “great debacle in the history books” and urged senior aides to “get a report on the facts” to shield Cuomo’s legacy.
Malatras acknowledged that the email from Benson was seen as a direct command from Cuomo, spurred by a news article.
The nursing home scandal, coupled with sexual harassment allegations, led to Cuomo’s political downfall in August 2021 after a decade in office.
Cuomo has consistently denied the sexual harassment claims, and no criminal charges have been filed against him.
