(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – BREAKING NOW: Elon Musk, the controversial multi-billionaire entrepreneur, is reportedly on the verge of completing his takeover of Twitter with the stated intent of making it a true free speech social media platform instead of one that bans and censors conservatives.
According to several sources, Twitter is prepared to accept Elon Musk’s bid for $43 billion to take the social network private.
Those sources said that Twitter could announce its acceptance of Musk’s offer to Twitter shareholders later Monday, once its board meets to recommend the transaction for Twitter shareholders. Sources said that the talks are fluid and that the deal could still be canceled.
Twitter shares surged by more than 5% on Monday after a report from Reuters.
According to the report, Twitter failed to obtain from Musk a “go-shop” clause in the deal that would have allowed Twitter to solicit bids from other potential buyers even after the agreement was signed.
The sources said that Twitter would still be permitted to accept an offer by another party by paying Musk a breakup fee.
According to Reuters, Musk met with shareholders and discussed the details of his $54.20 share offer for the social media platform. According to the report, Musk’s outreach prompted the board of directors to examine the Tesla CEO’s $43 billion takeover offer seriously.
Even if Musk and Twitter reach a deal, federal regulators, including the SEC, will have to give the agreement a greenlight.
