BREAKING: Mass Shooting on Train

BREAKING NEWS

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a terrifying crime in a Chicago suburb, a suspect has been apprehended following the tragic shooting deaths of four individuals, who were killed while asleep on a CTA Blue Line train in Forest Park early Monday morning, according to authorities.

CTA employees encountered the gruesome scene around 5:30 a.m. as the train was pulling into the station located at 711 Desplaines Avenue, ABC7 Chicago reports.

The Forest Park police were alerted to the incident through a 911 call reporting three people had been shot aboard the train.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials found four gunshot victims.

Three were declared deceased at the location, and the fourth succumbed to their injuries after being taken to Loyola University Medical Center.

“Shocking, you know, it is uncommon to have a mass shooting like this, especially this close to home,” stated Forest Park Police Deputy Chief Christopher Chin.

Mayor Rory Hoskins of Forest Park disclosed that the incident is believed to have occurred one station prior, near the Harlem Blue Line stop.

He noted that the victims, all adults, were asleep at the time of their murders.

“These victims, likely, never saw it coming,” Hoskins remarked.

“They were executed on Labor Day. In our community, people go to the pool. They go to the park. You know, they barbecue. But, today, a lot of people were calling the mayor’s office, expressing concern and asking if they were safe,” he added.

Authorities reported that the assailant fled the crime scene.

However, within ninety minutes, with the aid of CTA surveillance footage, officers apprehended a suspect at a CTA Pink Line station and recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the killings.

“We believe he got off at the Forest Park stop, and he was apprehended at a Pink Line station in Chicago somewhere, so he may have gotten on a train going the opposite direction,” Hoskins explained.

The shootings occurred in two separate train cars, police indicated.

“I mean, it’s a horrible situation,” Chin expressed.

“It is definitely something you don’t want to wake up to. It’s a Monday morning on a holiday. Everyone is supposed to be enjoying their time off, time with their families, it’s Labor Day. To actually have to be here to address a situation like this, it’s horrible,” he added.

The incident seems to be isolated, with no ongoing threat to public safety, according to police.
