(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – HAPPENING NOW: New York Attorney General Letitia James announced late this morning that she filed a massive $250 million lawsuit against former President Donald J. Trump, members of his family, and his company, alleging they defrauded banks, lenders, and others for upwards of 20 years.
In addition to filing the civil suit, Attorney General James has referred the case to federal prosecutors for possible criminal charges involving bank fraud.
As the New York Post reports in,” ‘Staggering’ fraud: NY AG Letitia James sues Donald Trump, kids, and company“:
“New York Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday filed a $250 million lawsuit against former President Donald Trump, his kids Eric, Ivanka, and Donald Trump Jr., and the Trump Organization — alleging “staggering” fraud in the family real estate business.
“The 220-page suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court is the culmination of a three-year investigation by the Democrat’s office to determine whether the Trump Org. ‘s assets were exaggerated for loan, insurance and tax purposes.”
During a press conference announcing the charges, James stated:
“‘Donald Trump falsely inflated his net worth by billions of dollars to unjustly enrich himself, and cheat the system, thereby cheating all of us. Claiming you have money that you do not have does not amount to ‘The Art of the Deal,’ it’s the art of the steal.'”
And as previously noted, there could be more trouble on the horizon as a footnote in the legal pleadings filed by James indicates she has already referred the results of her investigation to federal prosecutors in Manhattan for possible criminal charges for bank fraud.
