A wiretap caught Baker-Hill and her husband calmly plotting to draft a fake letter in a ploy to siphon more aid.

Baker-Hill now faces charges of wire fraud, lying, and committing fraud related to a major disaster, charges that could lead to more than 20 years in federal prison.
Although arrested, Baker-Hill was quickly released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
The charges stem from an FBI investigation that also exposed a drug conspiracy involving Maurice Hill and six others, leading to a 43-count indictment on drug distribution.

Despite the serious accusations, Baker-Hill reportedly denied any illegal activity during federal questioning.
