‘Challenge Me’ – I Dare You

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a new demonstration of a failing leftist politician’s needless stubbornness, Joe Biden has emphatically declared to both House and Senate Democrats that he will not withdraw from the race, daring anyone to “challenge” him at the upcoming Democratic Convention.

Biden insisted that the time has come to conclude the intra-party discord as Congress resumed this week in a detailed two-page letter to the Democrats on Capitol Hill.

“Now that you have returned from the July 4th recess, I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and to beating Donald Trump,” he wrote, cited by National Review.

In addition, the president challenged his party detractors by making an appearance on the MSNBC program Morning Joe on Monday.

“The bottom line here is we’re not going anywhere. I’m not going anywhere,” Biden declared, urging his critics, “challenge me at the convention.”

Amid increasing scrutiny over his campaign for reelection, Biden reiterated his conviction that he remains the most qualified candidate to counter former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

His argument centers on the perceived threat Trump poses to democratic values.

In his correspondence on Monday, Biden expressed concern that Trump and his allies favor the affluent and major corporations, and warned of a potential nationwide prohibition on abortion if Trump were to regain the presidency.

He emphasized the urgency of unity and resolve within the Democratic Party.

“We have 42 days to the Democratic Convention and 119 days to the general election. Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It is time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump,” Biden said in his letter.

The president’s stance follows a private discussion among four senior House Democrats who, during a call with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.Y.) on Sunday, firmly suggested that Biden should consider withdrawing from the race, as per sources familiar with the conversation reported by Politico and other media.

The dissent within the party has grown as Representatives Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Joe Morelle (D-NY), Adam Smith (D-WA), and Mark Takano (D-CA), joined by five other House Democrats who had publicly urged Biden to step down the previous week: Representatives Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ), Seth Moulton (D-MA), Mike Quigley (D-IL), and Angie Craig (D-MN).
