(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – On Sunday, five days after one of the worst school shootings in American history, Uvalde Police Chief Pete Arredondo hid in his home with police guards outside while at least one neighbor called him a “coward.”
“‘Pete Arredondo is a coward,’ snapped neighbor Lydia Torres. ‘He didn’t do his job. He failed the children,'” the New York Post reported while adding that police were guarding the chief’s home and keeping reporters away.
Torres is not alone in condemning Arreddondo now that it is known that he was the one who ordered police not to attempt to enter the classroom where the Robb Elementary School killer was located until 90 minutes after the mass killing began. On almost every social media platform, top trending posts are about the alleged cowardice of the Uvalde Police Department.
Additionally, according to one first-responder who arrived to provide first-aid to the victims, at least one child bled out and died while the police stood in the hallway outside the classroom where 19 children and two adults were slain.
As the New York Post indicates in “Young Texas school shooting victim ‘bled out’ waiting for help: family“:
“One of the young victims of the Texas school massacre bled to death while waiting for nearly an hour for police to come to the rescue — possibly dying because of the delay, a first-responder allegedly told her mom.
“Texas State Sen. Roland Gutierrez said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the girl’s heartbroken mother recalled to him how the worker told her the child might have lived if cops hadn’t been slow to move in on the killer.” [emphasis added]
The state senator provided more details:
“‘Her child had been shot by one bullet through the back, through the kidney area,’ Gutierrez told the outlet. ‘The first-responder that they eventually talked to said that their child likely bled out.’
“‘In that span of 30 or 40 minutes extra, that little girl might have lived,’ the Democratic lawmaker said. ‘So absolutely these mistakes may have led to the passing away of these children as well.'” [emphasis added]
