Elon Musk Declares War Against Apple

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – The world’s richest person, Twitter owner Elon Musk, has threatened to “go to war” with Apple if the latter makes good on its threats to suspend the social media platform from its app store.

“Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why,” Musk declared in a tweet.

His hint at a “declaration of war” on Twitter came from a meme shared in his subsequent tweets.

Before that, however, Musk dwelled on whether Apple was against free speech as the iPhone maker had almost stopped advertising on Twitter since he recently bought the social media platform in a $44 billion deal.

“Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?” the CEO of Twitter, Tesla, and SpaceX wondered.

Even before Musk’s posts, there had been “rumors” that the Apple and Google Android app stores may “crack down on Twitter” because of Musk’s “free speech ambitions,” Breitbart News reported.

Earlier this month, Yoel Roth, the former chief censor at Twitter, wrote in The New York Times that there had already been “calls” from the Apple and Google app review teams as he was about to quit the microblogging platform.

Over 99% of smartphones worldwide use either the wrynjffiOS or the Android operating systems, resulting in a “duopoly” for Google and Apple.

If the two tech giants ban the Twitter app, that would be a significant hurdle to installing it.

Nonetheless, it would still be possible to download it on Apple and Android phones via web apps, though that would be a more cumbersome process.

In another one of his tweets, Elon Musk slammed Apple for having a 30% tax on purchases through apps using its app store.

He also posted a meme suggesting he would “go to war” with Apple instead of paying the 30% tax.

As another Twitter user said Musk should develop a new smartphone if Google and Apple remove Twitter from their app stores, the world’s richest person said that was an option.

“I certainly hope it does not come to that, but yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone,” Musk declared.

Musk also shared a post by LBRY, a file-sharing and payment service based on blockchain, which said that Apple threatened them the company would be blacklisted unless it “filtered certain search terms.”

“Who else has Apple censored?” Elon Musk asked.
