(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Former White House Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci commissioned a scientific paper in February 2020 to disprove the theory that the COVID-19 pandemic started with a leak in a Chinese lab, newly uncovered emails reveal.
The newly leaked emails have been dug up by Republican US House of Representatives members investigating the coronavirus pandemic.
They reveal the “deceptive nature of Dr. Anthony Fauci,” who was the head of the National Institute on Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the time, The New York Post writes in a report.
At the end of 2022, Fauci retired as both NIAID head and White House advisor after having had a decisive role in the pandemic policies of the federal government. He ran the NIAID for 38 years and was the highest-paid US government employee ever.
The newly exposed email messages show that in February 2020, even before the pandemic hit the US and other Western nations in March 2020, Fauci “prompted” or commissioned, and approved a scientific paper that was designed to reject the theory that the novel coronavirus was leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Communist China.
Eight weeks after he commissioned the paper in question, Fauci spoke during a White House press conference with then-President Donald Trump and used the paper as evidence against the lab leak theory.
On April 17, 2020, he also “pretended” that he didn’t know the research’s authors and had nothing to do with it. Fauci was explicitly asked whether COVID-19 could have originated in a lab in China.
“There was a study recently where a group of highly qualified evolutionary virologists looked at the sequences … in bats as they evolve and the mutations that it took to get to the point where it is now is totally consistent with a jump of a species from an animal to a human,” the NIAID chief declared at the time.
“So, the paper will be available. I don’t have the authors right now, but we can make it available to you,” he added.
The paper was entitled “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2.” It had been sent to Fauci for editing and again for final approval before it was published in Nature Medicine on Feb. 17, 2020.
Emails uncovered and published by the House Oversight subcommittee reveal that the paper’s co-author, Dr. Kristian Andersen admits Fauci “prompted” him to write the report to “disprove” the lab leak theory about COVID-19’s origin.
Andersen and three of his colleagues wrote the study four days after a conversation with Fauci and Dr. Francis Collins, the then-head of the National Institutes of Health, of which NIAID is a part.
During the call, the six discussed reports that the novel coronavirus may have resulted from a lab leak in China’s Wuhan and “may have been intentionally genetically manipulated.”
“There has been a lot of speculation, fear-mongering, and conspiracies put forward in this space. [This paper was] Prompted by Jeremy Farrah [sic], Tony Fauci, and Francis Collins,” Andersen wrote in a cover email with which he submitted the paper to Nature Medicine on February 12, 2020.
At the time, Farrar was the head of the British nonprofit “The Wellcome Trust,” which has “historic ties to the pharmaceutical industry and the Gates Foundation.”
He was appointed chief scientist at the World Health Organization in December 2022.
“It is improbable that SARS-CoV-2 emerged through laboratory manipulation of an existing SARS-related coronavirus,” read a correction of the paper that Farrar made.
In conclusion of its report, The New York Times points out that “the question of why Fauci went to such an effort to obscure the origins of COVID-19 is a major focus” of the House Oversight subcommittee on the COVID-19 pandemic.
