Fauci Issues THIS Warning, But Does Anyone Care?

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) -Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical advisor of the White House, has warned that a new variant of COVID-19 could emerge over the upcoming winter.

“We should not be surprised [if that happens],” declared Fauci, who is the director of the National Institute on Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

BA.5 Omicron is presently the prevalent COVID-19 across the United States. Over the preceding 24-hour period, there were more than 42,000 new infections and 542 new coronavirus deaths nationwide.

During an event at the USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism, America’s top virologist warned that even though COVID-19 hospitalizations have been declining, there were still challenges in coping with the pandemic.

“We should anticipate that we very well may get another variant that would emerge that would elude the immune response that we’ve gotten from infection and/or from vaccination,” Fauci declared, as cited by Fox News.

He emphasized the “always” present risk of a surge in respiratory diseases over the winter.

The White House chief medical adviser recalled that last winter, the US saw a coronavirus surge thanks to the omicron variant, with numerous sub-variants spreading.

“Remember, we were going in the right direction in the summer of 2021, and along came delta. Then, in the winter – November, December of 2021 – along came omicron. And, since then, we’ve had multiple sublineages of omicron,” Fauci stated.

He pointed out that the now available vaccine booster shot targeted the major-circulating variant and is thus specific to omicron.

The White House and the Department of Health and Human Services have been urging eligible Americans to get vaccinated with the updated vaccine booster.

Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a federal government body, shows the BA.5 Omicron variant is observed in 81% of new infections throughout the United States.

More than 1 million people have died of COVID-19 in the United States, while more than 96 million have been infected, as per data from the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been the face and decisive voice in pandemic-era restrictions on public life.

He has been the head of the NIAID since 1984 and intends to retire in December 2022.

Fauci is the highest-paid federal government employee, with an annual salary bigger than that of President Joe Biden.

Recent reports indicated that his family’s net worth shot up by 80% during the pandemic, reaching $12.6 million.
