Gingrich Warns GOP About Second Biden Term

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Prominent conservative Newt Gingrich has warned the Republican Party that President Joe Biden would use the incumbent’s “enormous power” to his favor if he is the Democrats’ nominee in the 2024 election.

Gingrich, the speaker of the US House of Representatives from 1995-1999, argued that Biden’s power as the incumbent president could even eclipse his “enormous failures” in the White House so far.

At the same time, in an interview on WABC 77A AM-NY, the Republican heavyweight acknowledged it was still possible that the Democratic Party might pick a different nominee in the 2024 election.

“Incumbent presidents have enormous power. It’s very tough to take on an incumbent president inside his own party,” Gingrich commented on Sunday.

“But my working assumption is whoever runs, whether it’s Biden or somebody else, is going to have to carry the burden of four years of bad government, bad economy, open borders, weakness around the world, rising crime rates,” Gingrich told host John Catsimatidis on the program “The Cats’ Roundtable.”

“All the different things you and I know are going on and that’s all going to be causing them enormous problems,” he argued further, as cited by Newsmax.

According to Gingrich, Biden remains the front-runner for the Democrat presidential nomination. At the same time, on the other side of the aisle, there are two and possibly three leading bidders: President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and potentially Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin.

“Many things can happen between now and the nomination, and a lot more can happen between now and the general election,” the former House speaker noted.

He insisted that Biden has proven himself too weak to be the leader of the Free World.

“Today we have weak leadership which has the wrong ideas and which seems to be relatively happy to see America decay and decline while our enemies get stronger,” Gingrich declared.

“When you’re a very weak president who doesn’t understand that we have real enemies and doesn’t understand the requirements of real strength, the world begins to realize that the United States is very unreliable,” he elaborated.

“That’s one of the great costs of the Afghanistan withdrawal. The way it was done. The chaos that was involved. And then the confusion about Ukraine,” the GOP veteran added.

He insisted that world leaders were already “moving away” from Joe Biden, whether or not the voters of the Democratic Party might decide to pick another candidate.

“People watch all this and think, the great America that was competent and powerful and capable doesn’t exist, and I better make a new deal because I can no longer rely on the Americans,” Gingrich concluded.
