Girls Forced Out of Locker Room by Trans Students

A high school in Arizona has adopted a pro-transgender policy that has chased female students from their locker rooms to cater to the preferences of “transgender” individuals, a report reveals.

Catalina Foothills High School (CFHS) in Tucson, Arizona, allows “trans students” to change in their preferred locker room.

At the same time, it advised schoolgirls who might be uncomfortable with the trans students’ presence to use alternative facilities, The Daily Caller reported, citing leaked emails.

The school’s new “unwritten policy” was revealed to students, parents, and the public in a radio interview by Bart Pemberton, a parent of a girl attending CFHS.

Emails that the news outlet obtained have confirmed that transgender students can pick their locker room, and females could ask to be allowed to use “different changing facilities.”

Pemberton reacted to the policy by setting up a meeting with the school’s principal Jody Brase, which took place on February 21.

“According to [Brase], it is an unwritten and unadvertised policy for the past 10 years. It’s basically whatever they (the school administration) want it to be since it isn’t ‘official.’ Her rationale was that this is a small number of kids, the other kids know who they are, the kids almost always don’t fully undress, most of the kids won’t use the locker rooms, etc.,” Pemberton revealed.

The President of the Catalina Foothills School District governing board, Eileen Jackson, told Pemberton in an email the district’s Nondiscrimination/Equal Opportunity policy guide[s] our administrators in their daily decisions that arise in the operation of our schools.”

“Similarly, any student who is uncomfortable sharing multiple-occupancy facilities with others has the ability to request an accommodation. Our district administrators respond to their needs and find alternatives for those students. In this way, we treat all students in the same manner,” Jackson wrote.

Pemberton had told Blasé that he was worried by what happened in Loudoun County, Virginia, where a boy claiming to be “trans” raped two girls in two different school bathrooms.

The principal had responded she was “aware” of the Virginia case but “confident it wouldn’t happen here.”

Genon Thomas, a female student at Catalina, said the school hadn’t told her the girls’ locker room could also be used by biological males and called its policy the “dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”

“I shouldn’t have to share a bathroom or locker room with people who were not born the same gender as me. I just would not feel comfortable,” she said.

“Simply put, this is discrimination caused by hate for discrimination, very reminiscent of the force driving Marxist ideology. This policy discriminates against biological females as well as any information opposing the ideology that manifested this policy,” her older brother and CFHS alum Chandler Thomas commented.

Jennifer Pershing, a mother of four, including a CFHS student, said the was embracing a “dangerous social contagion” and “discriminating against the truth.”

She added “compassion for children suffering from gender dysphoria” did not mean parents had to “pretend it is normal.”

Pershing noted some parents had ignored the transgender policy of the school since it seemed like a losing battle. But she doesn’t think so.

“The transgender ideology is a lie [and will] ultimately fail,” she said.

A meeting of the Catalina Foothills School District board will discuss the matter on March 28.
