(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Texas’s newly reelected Republican Governor, Greg Abbott, has invoked the Invasion Clause of the United States and Texas constitutions to tackle the illegal alien invasion at the Southern Border.
Last week, Abbott won reelection with an 11-point lead over Democrat challenger Beto O’Rourke.
“I invoked the Invasion Clauses of the U.S. & Texas Constitutions to fully authorize Texas to take unprecedented measures to defend our state against an invasion,” Texas’ GOP governor announced Tuesday afternoon in a Twitter post.
“I’m using that constitutional authority, & other authorization & Executive Orders to keep our state & country safe,” he added.
His tweet contained an image with a long list of measures he plans to take under the Invasion Clause.
These include building a border wall in several Texas counties and using gunboats on the Rio Grande as a further means “to secure the border.”
Another critical measure on Abbott’s list is designating the Mexican drug cartels as “foreign terrorist organizations,” which would allow military action against them. Former President Donald Trump considered doing that in 2018 but was ultimately dissuaded.
The Texas governor also plans to “deploy the National Guard to safeguard our border and to repel and turn back immigrants trying to cross the border illegally.”
Another measure provides for authorizing the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) “to arrest and return to the border immigrants who crossed illegally” as well as “to arrest illegal immigrants for criminal activity.”
Under the Invasion Clause, Abbott plans to form compacts with other states and agreements with foreign powers to boost border security.
He will also give additional resources to Texas border counties so they can institute their “efforts to respond to the border invasion.”
Abbott, now finishing his second term as governor, before starting the third in January, called the giant influx of illegals an “invasion” for the first time in July.
In April, he started shipping illegal migrants off to high-profile Democrat-run locations such as the nation’s capital, Washington, DC, New York City, and Chicago, to raise nationwide awareness about the invasion.
He was later joined by Florida’s Republican Governor, Ron DeSantis, who flew illegals to Martha’s Vineyard.
More than 5.5 million illegals have invaded the United States since Democrat President Joe Biden entered the White House 21 months ago.
According to Customs and Border Protection estimates, these include more than 1 million gotaways who have been smuggled in undetected by the Mexican drug cartels.
