Hillary v Trump? Are They NUTS?!

Hillary Rodham Clinton

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – A crazy hypothetical scenario explored by a new poll shows that former First Lady Hillary Clinton would fare better in the 2024 presidential election against Donald Trump compared with incumbent President Joe Biden, as Democrats seem to be seeking an alternative candidate.

Still, the left has received conflicting data from two recent polls released on Tuesday, The New York Post reports.

The first poll, conducted by the Miami-based Bendixen & Amandi (B&A), suggested that both Vice President Kamala Harris and the 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton have a stronger performance against the likely Republican candidate, Donald Trump, than Biden.

However, a second poll from Emerson College indicated that Biden is more competitive against Trump than any other potential Democratic candidate, securing a higher percentage of votes than any except Harris.

The specifics of the B&A poll demonstrated that Biden lags slightly behind Trump, by one percentage point (43%-42%), while Harris has a slight edge over Trump, also by one percentage point (42%-41%).

Clinton, who previously served as Secretary of State and New York Senator, has a slight lead over Trump by two percentage points (43%-41%), with 6% of respondents opting for a third-party candidate and 10% undecided.

Conversely, the Emerson poll shows Trump leading Biden by three percentage points (46%-43%). In this survey, Trump extends his lead over Harris by six percentage points (49%-43%) and over Clinton by seven percentage points (48%-41%).

The same poll indicated that in a five-candidate contest, Trump would garner 44% of the vote, with Biden at 40%, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at 6%, and other independent and Green Party candidates receiving minimal support.

Both polls agree that other Democratic hopefuls fare even worse against Trump. For instance, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and California Governor Gavin Newsom both trail Trump by significant margins in both polls.

Other Democratic candidates like Senator Bernie Sanders, former Vice President Al Gore, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro also polled unfavorably against Trump.

Emerson College Polling’s Executive Director, Spencer Kimball, noted, “Since before the first presidential debate, former President Trump’s support remains at 46%, while President Biden’s support has decreased two percentage points.”

Kimball also highlighted a shift among independent voters who now favor Trump over Biden, a reversal from the previous month.

Despite President Biden’s commitment to remaining in the 2024 race, the B&A poll revealed that 52% of voters, including 33% of Democrats, believe he should withdraw.

The B&A poll included responses from 1,000 registered voters nationwide and reported a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points. The Emerson poll involved 1,370 voters and reported a margin of error of ±2.6 percentage points.
