Kennedy, who at first sought the Democrat presidential nomination, and then ran as an independent before quitting on Friday, disclosed on Sunday his decision to “actively” support Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president.
Kennedy publicly aligned himself with Trump at a rally in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday.
During an interview on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream, Kennedy revealed that Trump intends to consolidate support from various Democrats as the election progresses, Kennedy said, cited by The Daily Caller.
“I’ll be campaigning actively. President Trump is going to make a series of announcements about other Democrats who are joining his campaign. And, you know, I wanna make America healthy again, and so does President Trump,” Kennedy stated during the interview.
Kennedy emphasized his alignment with Trump’s vision, particularly on the issue of child health, which he believes should be a significant part of Trump’s legacy should he win a second term.
On Sunday morning, Kennedy took to social media to elaborate on his support for Trump, signaling the start of what he termed a “Unity” ticket for the GOP nominee.

Shortly before this announcement, he shared his thoughts on the commonly misunderstood slogan “MAGA,” suggesting a more nuanced interpretation than is typically acknowledged by critics.
“The phrase has troubled liberals who think it is a call for a return to an America before civil rights, gay rights, and women’s rights. But I have a more generous interpretation, one that is truer to my experience of Donald Trump as he is today,” Kennedy explained.
“‘Make America Great Again’ recalls a nation brimming with vitality, with a can-do spirit, with hope and a belief in itself. It was an America that was beginning to confront its darker shadows, could acknowledge the injustice in its past and present, yet at the same time could celebrate its successes. It was a nation of broad prosperity, the world’s most vibrant middle class, and a idealistic belief (though not consistently applied) in freedom, justice, and democracy. It was a nation that led the world in innovation, productivity, and technology. And it was the healthiest country in the world,” he elaborated.
“I have talked to many Trump supporters. I have talked with his inner circle. I have talked to the man himself. This is the America they want to restore,” Kennedy concluded.
