(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a powerful declaration mocking Donald Trump’s enemies on the left and right, US Senator JD Vance blasted those criticizing his suitability as the former president’s running mate, calling their attacks “a badge of honor.”

Vance (R-OH) addressed critiques from various members of both major political parties who have expressed reservations about him as Trump’s vice-presidential candidate in a televised interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”
The host, Maria Bartiromo, questioned Vance about the bipartisan concerns regarding his selection.
She inquired, “Some people are saying you were the wrong pick for Trump’s running mate. What are you doing about it?”
Vance responded with a light chuckle and acknowledged the widespread skepticism about his nomination, particularly from established figures within his own party and vehement opponents on the left.
“Look, I recognize that there are a lot of folks, even in the GOP establishment and certainly on the far left, who don’t like the fact that Donald Trump picked me,” he stated.
He further elaborated on his perspective towards the criticisms, viewing them as an indirect compliment rather than a detriment.
“I actually take their criticism as a badge of honor. Of course, the media is going to attack the people they fear the most. The media is going to attack the people, I think, who can most effectively bring President Trump’s message to a broader swath of the electorate,” Vance articulated.
In defense of his background and its appeal to the American electorate, Vance referenced his own life story as depicted in his best-selling memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy.”
He argued that his upbringing outside of the traditional political and economic elite resonates more with the average American.
“And I don’t come from inside the beltway, Maria. You know I grew up as a poor kid. I didn’t come from a political family or a wealthy family. I worked my way through college, through the Marine Corps, and eventually landed as Donald Trump’s running mate,” Vance added.
He emphasized that his personal journey is reflective of the experiences of many Americans and implies a broader disconnect between the media and the general public.
“I think that’s a story that a lot of normal Americans can empathize with. I’m not shocked that a lot of inside the beltway media types don’t like me, but their policies are the problem. Of course, they don’t like me because we’re running to fix what they have broken,” Trump’s vice presidential pick concluded.
