(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In one of the most cowardly acts by Kamala Harris so far, the Democrat presidential nominee has refused to participate in a debate against Republican nominee Donald Trump, which was supposed to take place on Fox News.
On Saturday, Harris declined an offer to debate former President Donald Trump on September 4 on Fox News.
Instead, she stipulated that the debate should occur on September 10, broadcasted by ABC News.
This preference for ABC News over Fox News is significant, as many believe ABC News holds a sympathetic stance toward the Democrat Party, Breitbart News comments in a report.
Conversely, although Fox News is not predominantly pro-Trump, its impartiality might be influenced by its board member, Paul Ryan, the former Speaker of the House.
Regarding the proposed scheduling, Michael Tyler, the Harris campaign’s communications director, expressed his frustrations to Newsweek.
“Donald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out. He needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on Sept 10,” the Harris operative said.
Tyler underscored the Vice President’s commitment to the event, emphasizing her readiness to engage with the national audience during prime time on the agreed-upon date.
He further suggested openness to organizing additional debates subsequent to the initial one, contingent on Trump honoring his commitment to the September 10 debate.
Trump had his own perspective on the scheduling conflict. He confirmed his agreement to a debate with Harris on Fox News on September 4, a deviation from an earlier arrangement to debate Joe Biden on ABC.
“The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, noting the location for the debate as Pennsylvania, with specifics yet to be finalized.
“The Moderators of the Debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his Party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!” he added.
The shift in debate participants from Biden to Harris was confirmed by Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director, who on July 25 announced the cancellation of the originally planned debate with Biden.
