(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Pleasing American Patriots, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has promised to remove progressivist Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar from the chamber’s Foreign Relations Committee if he becomes Speaker when the new Congress convenes in January.
Last week, the California Republican was reelected as leader of the House GOP, defeating Freedom Caucus challenger Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona 188-31 in a secret vote. His election as House Speaker is not 100% certain yet but appears likely.
Over the weekend, McCarthy addressed the 2022 leadership meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas.
He vowed to remove Ilhan Omar from the House Foreign Relations Committee because of her antisemitism if he was elected Speaker.
The Minnesota Democrat congresswoman, who was reelected for a third term in this month’s midterms and is a member of the far-left “Squad,” has described both the United States and Israel as “terrorist” states.
“We watch antisemitism grow not just on our campuses, but we watched it grow in the halls of Congress,” McCarthy said, as cited by The Daily Mail.
“You know I made another promise to you last time. There was this congresswoman, Ilhan Omar. I remember what she said about me. I remember what she said about Israel. I remember what she said about the [U.S.-Israel] relationship. I remembered it so much, I promised you last year she would no longer be on Foreign affairs,” the House Minority Leader elaborated.
“I’m keeping that promise,” he added amid cheers from the RJC audience.
The report noted that to kick Rep. Ilhan Omar out of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, McCarthy would have to secure a majority of House members that would vote for that.
That may not be a problem if he gets elected Speaker since the Republican Party recaptured the House of Representatives by a slim majority in this month’s midterms.
Besides equating the US and Israel with the Taliban and Hamas in terms of terrorist activity, Somalia-born Democrat Ilhan Omar has called Kevin McCarthy “a liar and a coward.”
That was because the latter refused to punish GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert for calling Omar a “jihad squad” member and joking that the Minnesota Muslim was carrying a bomb in an elevator.
Besides vowing to remove Omar from the House Foreign Relations Committee, Kevin McCarthy has also promised to reinstate Republican US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia to her committee assignments.
The Democrat majority stripped MTG of her committee appointments early in her current term because of some comments she made that were not to the left’s liking.
