Los Angeles to Illegals: Come Work For Our Government

Illegals Crossing Into US

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Individuals who have violated America’s laws by crossing the border illegally and residing in the country illegally are now allowed to work for the county of Los Angeles government.

As of this week, nobody – including illegal immigrants – is required to provide proof of being a US citizen or permanent resident when applying for Los Angeles County jobs.

The Board of Supervisors of LA County voted unanimously last week to allow any non-US citizens to hold government jobs, Breitbart News reported.

The only limitation is for positions in which the lack of a US citizenship requirement may come in conflict with state or federal law.

Proof of citizenship is still required for jobs at the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

The new policy of LA County was authored by Board Chair Hilda Solis and co-authored by Sheila Kuehl. Their rationale for it is to provide better representation for the illegal immigrant “community” in the city government.

“Los Angeles County is a community of immigrants from each corner of the world. And while our County-government workforce reflects the community it represents, there is room for improvement,” Solis declared.

“This motion seeks to make clear that the County, as one of the largest employers in the region, strives to be an inclusive and diverse workforce and is committed to not excluding nor allowing citizenship to be a barrier to employment,” she argued.

Solis added that about 880,000 “non-citizens” live in Los Angeles.

In her words, the Public Defender’s Office of LA County has received “applications from non-citizens who are otherwise allowed to practice law in California but are disqualified from the application process because of the citizenship requirement.”

Ricardo Garcia, a Los Angeles County Public Defender, argues that the US citizenship requirement to work for the city amounts to discrimination.

“Barriers to employment based on cultural, racial, ethnic, or religious characteristics are contrary to our core values. Citizenship overlaps these demographic characteristics,” Garcia said.

“An immigrant’s experience will advance our vision, mission, and values to protect our clients’ legal and human rights and enable us to more readily realize my goal that our employees fully represent the demographics of the population that we serve,” García insisted.
