(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Nearly a week after President Joe Biden in a recent speech called “MAGA Republicans” a threat to America and followers of “semi-fascism,” the top Republican in the US Senate, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), has failed to react in any way.
McConnell has not made any public remarks on the matter, and his office has failed to respond to numerous comment requests about his silence, Breitbart News reported.
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law, they do not believe in the rule of law, they do not recognize the will of the people,” Democrat President Joe Biden said in his “Address on the Battle for the Soul of the Nation.”
In the speech given outside Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, last Thursday, he accused the followers of the “Make America Great Again” movement of representing “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.”
“They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country,” Biden argued.
McConnell’s counterpart in the US House of Representatives, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), slammed Biden’s address even before the President gave it, as prepared remarks started circulating online.
“When the President speaks tonight…the first lines out of his mouth should be to apologize for slandering tens of millions of Americans as fascists. President Biden wants to talk about the soul of the nation…He will declare only [Democrats] hold the moral upper hand,” McCarthy declared.
The House Minority Leaders was also among the numerous right-wing political figures, pundits, and commentators who blasted Biden immediately after the latter’s address for vilifying the MAGA supporters.
The Breitbart report points out that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has also failed to issue any more noticeable comments on the unprecedented FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s home in Palm Springs, Florida, at the beginning of last month.
A day after the August 8 raid, McConnell refused to comment, and the following day, August 10, he only called for a “thorough and immediate explanation.”
“Attorney General Garland and the Department of Justice should already have provided answers to the American people and must do so immediately,” McConnell declared.
Because of that, the Senate Minority Leader’s response has been criticized by Fox News host Laura Ingraham as “limp & late.”
The report notes that even the disgraced former Democrat Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo declared his concerns about the FBI raid and did so the following morning.
