Clearly struggling with cognitive decline, the Democrat insists he could have defeated Trump if he had not been forced to drop out of the race.
When asked about whether he thought he could have had won over Trump, Biden stated, “It’s presumptuous to say that, but I think yes.”
For many, Biden’s assertion that he was the Democrats’ best chance against Trump in 2024 is nothing more than a sad attempt to salvage his tattered legacy.
The truth is that Biden’s presidency has been marked by one failure after another, from skyrocketing inflation to the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
For the past four years, Biden’s mental acuity and fitness for office were repeatedly called into question, especially after his poor performance in a CNN debate.
This led to mounting pressure from Democrat leaders who were concerned about Biden’s ability to face off against Trump on the debate stage.
Biden’s withdrawal from the race was unprecedented and caused an outcry among Democrat voters who realized they were being saddled with Kamala Harris as their nominee.
Harris, who took over Biden’s reelection campaign in late July, went on to suffer a crushing defeat at Trump’s hands, losing all seven swing states.
Although Biden claimed he was confident he could have defeated Trump, he admitted to having concerns about his advanced age.
At 86 years old by the end of a potential second term, Biden’s ability to lead effectively was rightfully questioned by voters and even members of his own party.
Biden expressed:
“When Trump was running again for reelection, I really thought I had the best chance of beating him. But I also wasn’t looking to be president when I was 85 years old, 86 years old. Who the hell knows? So far, so good. But who knows what I’m going to be when I’m 86 years old?”
Additionally, Biden revealed he regretted not taking more credit for his administration’s so-called “achievements.”
However, the truth is that his policies caused economic hardship for millions of Americans, weakened national security and emboldened enemies abroad.
“I think that we would’ve been a hell of a lot better off had we been able to go much harder at getting some of these projects in the ground quicker,” Biden stated.
As Trump prepares to take office once again, one thing is certain: the American people have rejected Biden’s failed policies and weak leadership.
The upcoming administration will have its work cut out for it as it must undo the damage done by four years of Democrat mismanagement.
The incoming Trump administration is also tasked with restoring America to its rightful place as a beacon of strength and prosperity.
