Prominent pollster Nate Silver has named far-left Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the most likely Democrat to run for president in 2028.
This head-turning prediction could signal the radical left’s plans to position their most extreme voice for America’s highest office.
Silver, the data analyst who founded FiveThirtyEight, made the concerning forecast on his “Silver Bulletin” Substack alongside colleague Galen Druke.
Both political observers agreed that AOC, who turns 35 this year (the minimum age required for presidential eligibility), has positioned herself as the Democrat Party’s future standard-bearer.
According to Silver’s analysis, Ocasio-Cortez currently enjoys the highest net favorability rating among Democrat voters based on a recent Yale poll.
This popularity among the left comes despite her championing of radical policies, including the economy-destroying Green New Deal, defunding police departments, and open borders.
Druke specifically highlighted that AOC’s youth and media savvy give her significant advantages in a potential presidential run.
He noted her well-documented history of using social media to bypass traditional news outlets and spread her socialist messaging directly to followers.
“I think there’s a lot of points in her favor at this very moment,” Druke pointed out.
The New York representative has consistently pushed for massive government expansion, elimination of private health insurance through Medicare for All, and has embraced anti-free market policies.
Silver stated, “I agree with everything. She was going to be my first pick, and I can’t conceal that now, right? Because of some of the polling; because she has this kind of progressive lane, probably not to herself; because she is younger and media savvy.”
“I mean, look, in polls, if she were to try to primary Chuck Schumer, she is now ahead in those polls and New York Democrats are actually a pretty moderate bloc,” he added.
Silver and Druke both acknowledged AOC has begun strategically repositioning herself, shifting from openly radical stances to more carefully packaged messaging focused on economic issues.
Both analysts also mentioned Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as another strong contender for the Democrat nomination.
Druke also listed Kamala Harris as his third choice and Silver named Senator Cory Booker.
“I think she’s gonna run. If you’ve been following her moves in terms of her ‘Fight Oligarchy’ tour, in terms of the kind of content she’s putting out on social media,” Druke added, indicating that AOC’s presidential ambitions are already in motion.
The prospect of an AOC presidential nomination ultimately represents the culmination of the Democrat Party’s steady march toward socialism.
