(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Sometimes people say things before thinking. The mistake is a common one, and it can turn on people, even when they mean well. One North Carolina teacher learned the hard way that any words can be easy to twist.
While talking about the US Constitution and its vitality, a North Carolina school teacher at Winterville Charter Academy made racially charged comments. The teacher, during a lecture back in September, allegedly told students that they could be her slaves right now if not for the Constitution.
According to the North Carolina school, the teacher has since resigned and staff will undergo new training. https://t.co/Nd8cxckJJp

According to a report from the school administration, several students also used racially insensitive phrases. The administration later confirmed that the teacher had resigned. Still, parents at the time were furious and took to social media to express their anger. Some shared what their children went through, claiming the teacher asked black students to raise their hands, and that once they did, that’s when she made the racial remarks. Winterville Charter Academy issued a statement to parents noting that the teacher had resigned and students involved would face discipline. School officials insist they took immediate action upon hearing the allegations.
Did the teacher intend for the comments to be racist? Perhaps, or maybe she was trying to make a point. Either way, she’s paying the price for not thinking before speaking on the sensitive subject.
