The House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government presented an initial report, shedding light on the government’s misuse of power, mishandling of resources, and revengeful tactics.

In this committee report, it was disclosed by FBI informants Garret O’Boyle and retired FBI Supervisory Intelligence Officer George Hill that Bank of America (BoA) handed over to the FBI’s Washington Field Office a list of individuals. This list included those who had completed transactions in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region with a BoA credit or debit card between January 5 and 7, 2021.

Hill also testified that people who had previously bought a firearm with a BoA product were given priority on the list given to the FBI Washington Field Office, as reported by Breitbart News’s Ashley Oliver.

During a Thursday subcommittee hearing, one of its members, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), stressed that Hill testified there were no geographic limitations regarding data collection of Americans’ firearm purchases.

It is still uncertain whether Bank of America freely offered the transaction data of Americans to the FBI Washington Field Office or whether they acted in compliance with a general subpoena.

However, Hill confirmed to the committee that there “was no legal process … asking for it … from the Bureau or from DOJ or anyone.”

In response to these facts, the Judiciary report declared, “It is clear that Hill had a reasonable belief that there was a violation of law.”

Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) claimed that Bank of America’s alleged handover of American’s transactions amounted to large-scale “victimization” of Americans.

Bishop stated, “Bank of America gave a list to the FBI of anyone who used BoA credit/debit cards in the D.C. area between Jan 5-7th, 2021 – whether they participated in the events of Jan. 6th or not.”

This recent revelation is part of ongoing updates about the FBI’s surveillance of those who might have been involved in the January 6 protests.

The FBI recently conducted an internal review that determined the agency lacked adequate justification for two searches related to the “January 6th Capitol Violence” under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
