(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) has sounded the alarm: our power grid is on the brink of collapse.
Thanks to the Biden administration’s relentless push for unreliable green energy, over half of North America faces a serious risk of blackouts in the coming years.
NERC’s latest report paints a grim picture of America’s energy future. With power demand skyrocketing to levels not seen in two decades, the eclectic grid is buckling under the pressure.
The culprits are a perfect storm of liberal policies and technological greed: AI data centers, electric vehicles and heat pumps are all gobbling up electricity at unprecedented rates.
“The trends point to critical reliability challenges facing the industry: satisfying escalating energy growth, managing generator retirements, and accelerating resource and transmission development,” warns NERC.
As demand rises, the Biden administration is also forcing the closure of reliable coal, natural gas and nuclear power plants.
These are the very backbone of America’s energy infrastructure, and they are being dismantled in the name of “green” energy.
“Accelerated retirements of the existing coal, natural gas, and nuclear generators can have a profound and negative effect on the resource adequacy and reliability of the [bulk power system] in the next 10 years,” NERC stated.
The liberal dream of a grid powered by sunshine and breezes is crashing into reality. Solar panels and batteries simply cannot keep up with the pace of plant closures.
Even worse, these “green” alternatives are unreliable, leaving people at the mercy of weather conditions.
Regions like the Midwest, California and Texas are particularly vulnerable. The Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) region could face energy shortfalls as soon as 2025.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s overreaching regulations are speeding up the retirement of the vital coal fleet.
Meanwhile, natural gas pipeline capacity, crucial for flexible, reliable power, has been declining for seven years straight.
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is calling for action, urging the repeal of regulations that threaten electrical reliability.
