(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – David DePape, the attacker who broke into Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home, intended to break the US House Speaker’s kneecaps, according to court documents.
42-year-old invaded Pelosi’s residence early Friday morning, seeking the 82-year-old Democrat.
He woke up her multimillionaire husband, Paul Pelosi, also 82. After finding out that Nancy Pelosi wasn’t there, he said he would wait for her and break her kneecaps if she lied to him when answering his questions.
Paul Pelosi excused himself to the bathroom, from where he called 911, leaving the line open until the police arrived. Both he and the attacker had to be hospitalized after an ensuing struggle at the time the officers came.
According to data from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), DePape is an illegal alien from Canada who overstayed his visa after arriving in the US more than 20 years ago.
The attacker had a hammer, zip ties, and duct tape when he broke into Pelosi’s home, and he made it clear he intended to hold the US House Speaker hostage and question her, Fox News reported based on court documents.
“[Paul] Pelosi stated that his wife would not be home for several days, and then DePape reiterated that he would wait,” the affidavit reads.
After he was arrested, DePape admitted to investigators he had planned to capture Nancy Pelosi and interrogate her.
“DePape stated that he was going to hold Nancy hostage and talk to her. If Nancy were to tell DePape the ‘truth,’ he would let her go, and if she ‘lied,’ he was going to break ‘her kneecaps,’” the affidavit reveals further.
At the same time, the illegal alien told Paul Pelosi he was “certain” that Nancy Pelosi would lie to him. He said she was the “leader of the pack” of Democrats who told “lies.”
“DePape also later explained that by breaking Nancy’s kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into Congress, which would show other Members of Congress that there were consequences to actions,” the affidavit explains.
The attacker admitted to the house break-in and cracking Paul Pelosi’s skull while fighting over the hammer.
The court documents also disclose that DePape told the investigators that “much like the American founding fathers with the British, he was fighting against tyranny without the option of surrender.”
On Monday, DePape was hit with multiple federal and state charges. The former include assault, attempted murder, and attempted kidnapping of a US official.
The latter include “attempted murder, residential burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, false imprisonment of an elder, and threats to a public official and their family.”
The US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California said the federal charges could bring DePape up to 50 years in prison.
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said state charges could land him 13 years to life.
