(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) attacked former President Donald Trump after his recent warning that he would get arrested on Tuesday, March 21.
Last week, Trump posted on Truth Social that he expects to be arrested based on leaks from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
Reports claim an indictment will be issued because of alleged hush money payments that Trump made to porn star Stormy Daniels when he was a presidential candidate in 2016.
“NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK,” Trump wrote.
“PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!, [sic]” he added.
Over the weekend, Democrat US Rep. Nancy Pelosi took to Twitter to slam Trump’s comments that he anticipates getting arrested.
“The former president’s announcement this morning is reckless: doing so to keep himself in the news & to foment unrest among his supporters,” the former House speaker tweeted.
“He cannot hide from his violations of the law, disrespect for our elections and incitements to violence. Rightfully, our legal system will decide how to hold him accountable,” she added.
At the same time, Pelosi seemed to hint that a potential indictment against Trump is in the making.
“Whatever the Grand Jury decides, its consideration makes clear: no one is above the law, not even a former President of the United States,” she wrote, as cited by Fox News.
Meanwhile, Pelosi’s successor as leader of the House Democrats, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), also attacked “right-wing extremists” in tweets that may have also been directed at Trump.
“We live in a democracy. Right-wing extremists who fan the flames of political violence with inflammatory rhetoric are not fit to serve. American values over autocracy” wrote Jeffries.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office is expected to meet with law enforcement officials this week to “discuss logistics for some time next week regarding a potential indictment,” according to Fox News.
It is noted that the indictment would be over “Trump’s alleged hush money scandal.”
In the last weeks of the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen sent $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels who was threatening to reveal an alleged 2006 affair with the then-future president.
The 45th president of the United States has denied having had a relationship with Daniels.
Trump subsequently reimbursed Cohen, and charges that could be brought against the former may be over the false recording of the reimbursements as “legal expenses.”
There have been speculations that Trump could also be charged with violating campaign finance laws over the same matter.
Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung has said the Manhattan DA’s probe is a “witch hunt” and that the former president is “completely innocent,” while Alvin Bragg serves Joe Biden and “radical Democrats.”
