(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Joe Biden claimed AR-pistol stabilizer braces allow pistols to fire “higher-caliber” bullets as he spoke at a recent Democrat gun control event, sparking criticism of inadequate gun knowledge.
During the National Safer Communities Summit in Connecticut, Biden “boasted” about the new AR-pistol stabilizer brace rule by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Breitbart News reports.
The president first discussed the gun control legislation passed by Congress last summer with the active role of Republican US Senator John Cornyn (R-TX).
He then dwelled on his executive action against what the Democrats call “ghost guns.” That has resulted in an ATF rule reclassifying “partially complete pistol frames” into “firearms,” the report notes.
“We’ve made it harder for people to buy stabilizer braces. Put a pistol on a brace, and it turns it into a gun,” Biden declared as he discussed the ATF stabilizer brace rule.
“[The brace] makes it where you can have a higher caliber bullet coming out of that gun,” he added.
The Breitbart report stresses stabilizer braces have nothing to do with altering an AR-pistol’s caliber or action.
“An AR-pistol is a gun in and of itself. A stabilizer brace is simply a piece of plastic that can be attached to the rear of the gun to help stabilize the pistol when target shooting,” it points out.
It adds that the stabilizer braces were developed to help wounded combat veterans steady pistols for shooting sports.
After that, Biden raised eyebrows with what is widely deemed a perplexing ending. He said a storm was coming, and he wouldn’t manage to shake all attendees’ hands.
“Is that the truth? Now, do not make a lie – as that scene in the John Wayne movie – don’t make me a dog-faced, lying, pony-soldier,” Biden said.
“I will stand in front of each section – no, I really mean it – if you can see the camera, they can see you. It is the least consequential part of this whole meeting for you, I promise,” he added.
“All right. God Save the Queen, man,” Biden concluded.
His baffling last sentence invited ridicule from conservative pundits.
