Proof: Human Smuggling Is Out of Control

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Human trafficking across the US-Mexican border has seemingly exploded as US Border Patrol agents in the El Paso sector intercepted almost 50 human smuggling cases last week alone.

The interdictions in the 49 trafficking incidents led to the arrests of 300 illegal aliens, Breitbart News reported, citing a statement by the Border Patrol.

In one of the human smuggling cases on January 9, Border Patrol agents from the Ysleta Station were along Highway 62/180 when they encountered a dark-colored pickup truck.

When the agents stopped the vehicle, they discovered seven illegal aliens trying “to conceal themselves.”

The illegals were identified as Mexican citizens. After they were screened, they were expelled to Mexico under the still active Title 42 expulsion authority.

The driver of the human trafficking pickup truck was also a Mexican national. He was arrested and “will face prosecution for human smuggling under 8 USC 1324.”

In another case, on January 10, BP agents from Deming Station noticed six vehicles “driving in tandem.” When they were pulled over, several persons tried to escape on foot but were caught.

The six cars contained 38 illegal immigrants, including unaccompanied children. They were identified as nationals of Mexico, the Central American nations of Guatemala and Honduras, and Ecuador in South America.

“The drivers now face federal charges of Conspiracy to Transport migrants under 8 USC 1324,” the US Border Patrol said.

In a third recent human trafficking case, on January 11, border agents from Deming Station saw a “suspicious” black SUV on New Mexico State Road 26 and pulled it over for inspection.

“The agents found eight migrants attempting to conceal themselves in the SUV,” BP officials said.

The eight illegals were from Guatemala and El Salvador in Central America, Mexico, and Ecuador.

Their driver, a legal US permanent resident, was arrested for “conspiracy to transport.”

Those migrants who were eligible for Title 42 expulsion were sent back to Mexico. At the same time, the rest were taken to the El Paso Central Processing Center for procession under Title 8.

“Transnational Criminal Organizations continue to recklessly endanger the lives of the migrants they smuggle for their own financial gain and with no regard for human life,” El Paso Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Peter Jaquez stated.

“Human smuggling is a federal crime, and the El Paso Sector will continue to work diligently with our US Attorney partners in the West Texas District and the State of New Mexico to prosecute smugglers that endanger and exploit migrants,” he elaborated.

In all of the 2022 Fiscal Year (ending September 30, 2022), El Paso Sector arrests led to 642 prosecutions for human smuggling. In the first two months of the 2023 Fiscal Year, there were 141 prosecution cases.
