(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – As if the tremendous devastation by Hurricanes Helene and Milton hasn’t been enough, the state of Florida now finds itself confronting a wave of looting crime committed by illegal immigrants, among others, which aggravates an already dire situation.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office reveals that 41 out of 45 individuals arrested for looting are illegal immigrants.

As residents strive to recover, they’re not just battling nature’s wrath but a surge of crime spurred by their vulnerabilities.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, nearly all looting suspects following Hurricanes Helene and Milton are illegal immigrants from countries like Mexico, Cuba, and Colombia.

The suspects were arrested on 68 charges, including armed robbery and burglary, highlighting a compelling need for stronger border and immigration enforcement.

The perpetrators exploited the chaos, targeting vulnerable businesses and residents trying to rebuild their lives, The New York Post reports.

Sheriff Bob Gualtieri noted that virtually all of these criminals came from outside Pinellas County, further intensifying the frustration many local citizens feel towards federal immigration policies.

“As the Pinellas beaches recover, we’re gonna continue these patrols and arrest everyone we can who is stealing from the vulnerable of two back-to-back storms that have devastated our community,” declared Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.

Compounding the communities’ struggles are scammers, who have taken advantage of many Floridians.

Scams involving fake contractors have swindled victims out of $250 million.

Criminals posing as legitimate businesses have flooded the region, exploiting those desperate for repairs and recovery.

Many of those apprehended had extensive criminal histories, underscoring the murky underbelly of illegal immigration that often goes unchallenged due to lenient policies.

196 individuals were questioned, with 163 revealed as illegal aliens showing the immense scope of crime oversight challenges.

“This is the epitome of people trying to exploit others when they’re down and when they’re out, and they’re trying to rebuild, and they’ve got nothing,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said further, cited by The Blaze.

In response, law enforcement has deployed 80 additional officers to deter further crimes.

Continuous patrols aim to protect these communities as they struggle to rebuild amidst ongoing concerns of safety and security.
