(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a full-fledged mobilization of military-trained males over massive personnel losses in his war in Ukraine and has now threatened America and its allies with nuclear weapons.
Seven months into the war, Putin’s attempt to conquer Ukraine, a country the size of Texas with a population of 45 million, has failed, while Russia has registered tremendous losses.
Between 55,000 and 100,000 Russian fighters have been killed (depending on whether the mercenaries, proxies, and national guard’s losses are also counted), while over 14,000 units of Russian military equipment have been destroyed.
Putin’s announcement of mobilization of military-age males has come as somewhat surprising as his regime is believed to fear the possibility of an armed revolution in Russia. Besides, the draft is an admission of Moscow’s failure so far to subdue Ukraine.
A subsequent announcement by Putin’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu made it clear that, at first, only about 300,000 military reservists would be called up to fight in Ukraine.
In his televised speech, in which he escalated the war against Ukraine with a large-scale mobilization effort, Putin also reiterated a nuclear war threat against the West from his original invasion speech on the morning of February 24.
“In the event of a threat to the territorial integrity of our country and to defend Russia and our people, we will certainly make use of all weapon systems available to us. I am not bluffing,” he said.
“The goal of that part of the West is to weaken, divide and ultimately destroy our country,” the Russian President declared, placing the blame for his own invasion of Ukraine on the United States and its allies.
Putin’s speech came after Russian collaborators in the still-occupied parts of Ukraine announced plans to hold what is widely considered sham referendums for being annexed by Moscow.
His mobilization announcement caused Russian men seeking to evade the draft to buy out all available plane tickets to countries with visa-free travel for Russians, such as Turkey and Armenia.
US President Joe Biden has reacted strongly to Putin’s latest nuclear war threat against the West in a speech before the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
“Let us speak plainly: A permanent member of the United Nations Security Council invaded its neighbor and attempted to erase the sovereign state from the map. Russia has shamelessly violated the core tenets of the United Nations charter… This war is about extinguishing Ukraine’s right to exist as a state, plain and simple,” Biden declared.
“A nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought. Russia’s shun the nonproliferation ideals embraced by every other nation…and today they’re making irresponsible threats to use nuclear weapons,” he stated further.
