Ron DeSantis Destroys Reporter Over ‘Let’s Go Brandon’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis

( – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who many Republicans across the country hope will be President of the United States in the not too distant future, absolutely destroyed a television news reporter who tried to back DeSantis into a corner over the now-famous “Let’s Go, Brandon” chant that many conservatives and Republicans use to mock and taunt President Joe Biden and the media.

As most know by now, the phrase evolved from a post-NASCAR race interview when NBC Sports reporter Kelli Stavast was interviewing the winning driver, Brandon Brown, who had just scored his first career NASCAR win. As Stavast interviewed Brandon, the crowd started chanting, “F**k Joe Biden.”

Hearing the chant and realizing it could be heard on national television, Stavast stated that the race fans were chanting, “Let’s go, Brandon.” Almost immediately, folks across the country who want to vent their anger and displeasure with Biden started saying or chanting, “Let’s Go, Brandon,” instead of saying or chanting, “F**k Joe Biden.”

As you’ll see in the video clip of the interview below, the reporter tried to shame DeSantis into admitting that the phrase is derogatory and has no place in politics because DeSantis has used the phrase himself at press conferences.

DeSantis wasn’t going to take the bait and, with a smile on his face, slammed the reporter by stating that the phrase is as much a slam – a criticism – of the media as it is of Biden.

Well, look, I think it’s a joke, but honestly, one of the reasons why that has taken on is because a lot of your folks in the national media, they get very sensitive to it,” DeSantis said. “Because what happened was people were chanting something else very colorful. You had a reporter, though, say it was ‘Let’s go, Brandon’ when that’s not really what was said.”

Bottom line: DeSantis made it clear he, along with millions of Americans, will continue to use the phrase “Let’s go, Brandon.”
