Speaker Attacks Biden

Joe Biden

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – In a strong-worded but possibly correct assessment, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has declared that Joe Biden is “the worst president in the history” of the United States during a discussion of a proposed effort to impeach Biden.

Johnson (R-LA) delivered the severe critique of the president on Tuesday over US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) proposal to impeach Biden.

Greene disclosed to journalists on Monday her intention to initiate a vote that evening to impeach Biden due to the situation at the US southern border.

However, she decided to delay her plans after a planned discussion with Johnson.

The two convened late Tuesday morning, shortly after Johnson stated he was making “no commitment” regarding Greene’s impeachment initiative.

“In general, the impeachment power is one that we wield very carefully here, as I’ve said so many times. Next to the declaration of war, it’s the heaviest power that Congress has,” Johnson articulated at a Tuesday press conference before his meeting with Greene.

“It … needs to be very methodical. Look, there’s no question President Biden, I think, is the worst president … I think President Biden’s the worst president in the history of the country, and there may well be impeachable offenses,” he continued.

“There is an investigation process that’s gone about that has been looked at [by] our committees of jurisdiction, and the process continues, so I’m not making any commitment on that this morning. We have to let the constitutional process and our constitutional responsibility play out,” the speaker declared, cited by The Hill.

Greene mentioned on Monday that she might activate the resolution later in the week.

During the meeting between Greene and Johnson, Biden announced a significant executive action aimed at managing migrants seeking asylum who illegally cross the southern border during periods of high daily encounters.

This directive will be implemented when the seven-day average of daily border crossings surpasses 2,500 between ports of entry, according to senior administration officials. It will take immediate effect. President Biden declared the modification under the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Before the announcement of the order, Johnson had already criticized it as “weak” and merely “window dressing.”

He argued that Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have orchestrated a series of actions that have effectively created an open border over the last three and a half years.

“The evidence is so clear, and now suddenly he wants to issue some weak executive order—one, by the way, one executive order—supposedly to try to address the issue. It’s window dressing. Everybody knows that if he was concerned about the border, he would have done this a long time ago,” Johnson remarked.
