(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – With Roe v. Wade almost certain to be overturned before July, and the legality of abortion decided by individual state legislatures as it was before 1973, American businesses are starting to tell their employees what they will do if abortion is outlawed in states where the company operates.
While not many businesses have gone public with their decisions, Starbucks came forward today saying that it will pay employees’ travel expenses for abortions and “gender-affirming” surgery.
As CNBC reports in “Starbucks to cover employees’ travel expenses for abortions, gender-affirming surgeries“:
“Starbucks said Monday it will start covering eligible travel expenses for employees seeking abortions or gender-affirming procedures.
“The coffee chain joins Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Salesforce in offering to reimburse workers for travel costs related to abortions following the leak of a draft U.S. Supreme Court ruling that would strike down Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that ensured the right to undergo the procedure. Other large companies, like Walmart and Disney, have overwhelmingly chosen to stay silent on the draft opinion.”
Noting that Starbucks has long been out front on liberal issues and causes, CNBC also points out that Starbucks’ “health insurance has covered gender reassignment surgery since 2012 and a wider array of gender-affirming procedures, like hair transplants or breast reduction, since 2018.”
There is no word yet from any conservative organizations concerning the planned or promoted boycotts of Starbucks.
