(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – A heroic 75-year-old woman from a crime-ridden, Democrat-run city in California successfully beat back a brutal home invasion by firing her gun in self-defense against armed criminals breaking into her residence.

The woman, whose identity is not revealed, is a resident of Oakland, a city of over 400,000 people infested with offenders due to the left’s soft-on-crime policies.
The elderly lady was alone at her home the night of July 27 when two home invaders kicked down her front door around 2 a.m. to rob her, The Blaze reports.
The armed criminals began going through her belongings, searching for valuables before they entered her bedroom, demanding that she give them her cell phone.
However, in a brilliant exercise of her Second Amendment rights, the courageous homeowner stunned the burglars by drawing her .357 Magnum and firing a single shot at them.
Even though the criminals responded by firing back about 20 rounds against her, they fled her residence shortly after she resorted to force against their invasion. They did manage to snap up some of her valuables, including jewelry items.
The Oakland Police Department investigating the robbery said no injuries were reported due to the shootout.
“It’s absolutely unbelievable what she was able to do. It’s amazing. She is a superwoman. We’re all just lauding her and just amazed at her wherewithal,” commented the heroic gun owner’s daughter in a KTVU report.
“She had the presence of mind to reach into her nightstand and get a weapon. And she had it under her covers, and when she saw an opening, she fired a shot,” explained the woman’s neighbor, Calvin Walker.
“This woman is a hero. She kept her wits about her,” reacted another one of her neighbors, Dave Lederer.
Oakland City Councilmember Treva Reid said the fact that the woman managed to survive the shootout with the violent home intruders was “a miracle.”
“I believe that this is a message also for the criminals, that people in Oakland, we’re tired of the lawlessness. People are standing up. People are fighting back,” the homeowner’s daughter quipped further.
“[The criminals a]re really, they’re playing with their lives because all these people out here are armed,” declared another neighbor, Lynn Baranco.
