Suspect in Custody after Texas School Shooting

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Tragedy struck Arlington, Texas on October 6th. A fight broke out between two students, triggering an armed student to go on the attack. Local police responded to reports of gunfire at Mansfield Timberview High School shortly after 9:15 a.m.

The suspect, 18-year-old Timothy George Simpkins, turned himself in shortly after the incident began. He remains in custody of police as of the time this article was written.

Collected evidence suggests Simpkins used a .45 caliber handgun during the crime. Officers discovered the firearm, in an unspecified location, several miles from the shooting.

Reports claim the initial fight broke out on the second floor. Simpkins, who was allegedly involved in the altercation, drew a firearm in what his parents say was a woefully misguided attempt at self-defense. The incident rapidly escalated, causing Simpkins to shoot and injure three other students present in the room.

Police didn’t report any casualties in connection with the short event. They did say a 25-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds, while a 15-year-old boy remains in the hospital in critical condition. The third victim, a teenage girl, may have been grazed by a bullet.

The investigation into the exact circumstances of the shooting continues. Arlington police turned the weapon over to ATF for ballistic testing. They have yet to release any information from Simpkins’ interrogation.
