(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Just before her powerful return to the stage in London, Taylor Swift made a heartfelt gesture by reaching out to the families of the victims of the tragic mass stabbing in Southport, England, last month.
The 34-year-old and 14-time Grammy winner resumed her sold-out Eras tour on Thursday night in London, kicking off a five-night run in what would be the final European leg of her global tour.
This concert was reportedly the “hardest” of Swift’s career, following the heartbreaking deaths of three young girls who were attending a dance class inspired by her music.
The three girls: Alice da Silva Aguiar, Elsie Stancombe, and Bebe King, ages 9, 7, and 6, were killed when a knife-wielding man entered their dance class on July 29, while ten others were seriously injured.
Although Swift did not address the tragedy on stage, she had reportedly contacted the victims’ families before performing at Wembley Stadium.
“Taylor may not have spoken about Elsie Dot, Alice, and Bebe on stage but she has reached out to their families,” a source said. “It is something that has weighed heavily on her mind.”
Just a day after the tragedy, Swift expressed her shock in a public statement.
“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just completely in shock…,” the “Fortnight” singer wrote on July 30.
She continued, “The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class.”
In response to the attack, Swift’s fans have raised thousands of dollars for the victims’ families.
Moreover, the “So Long, London” singer was later forced to cancel three of her Vienna shows due to a thwarted terror plot.
On August 7, local authorities in Vienna announced the arrest of three teens who had pledged allegiance to ISIS.
These suspects, aged 15 to 19, allegedly planned to carry out an attack outside Ernst Happel Stadium to kill “as many people as possible,” using homemade explosives and knives.
