(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Supporting GOP candidate Donald Trump’s assertion that many illegals entering the U.S. come from Latin American prisons, Texas officials classified the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua as a “foreign terrorist group.”
According to authorities, the Tren de Aragua is an international criminal organization involved in extortion, homicide, drug trafficking, and human smuggling.
Due to Venezuela’s political and economic crisis, many Venezuelans are permitted to enter the U.S. and apply for asylum.
However, Texas’ top border official, Mike Banks, claimed that Venezuela “has released prisoners with one condition: you leave Venezuela and don’t come back.”
Banks also argued that the Biden administration, under Joe Biden and recent Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris, is encouraging these individuals to enter the U.S. with what he described as an open border policy.
Moreover, immigration advocates counter that the Biden administration has imposed strict restrictions on border crossings and asylum seekers.
At the same press conference, Texas GOP Governor Greg Abbott officially designated Tren de Aragua as a “foreign terrorist organization.”
This designation enables authorities to target the gang more aggressively under anti-terrorism laws and supports the creation of a specialized task force to combat them.
In addition, the announcement followed a presidential debate where Trump had unfoundedly accused Harris of permitting millions of illegal aliens to enter the U.S. from Mexico after being released from prisons or mental health facilities.
Trump also made the debunked claim that illegals in Springfield, Ohio were eating residents’ pet dogs and cats.
He also stated he is going to send those illegals “back to Venezuela,” although most of them in Springfield are Haitian.
Furthermore, Springfield has had to step up security due to threats being made as the viral, false claims about illegal Haitians continue to circulate after being amplified by Trump and his running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance.
