Trump Wants His Arrest To Be Public

( – Former President Donald Trump and his presidential campaign team would like his possible arrest to be public, so he could “capitalize” on its effect, according to a report citing insider sources.

There have been reports for several days now that Trump will be indicted by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg over a 2016 “hush money payment” to porn star Stormy Daniels so she wouldn’t reveal an alleged sex affair with the then-presidential candidate.

Trump predicted he would be arrested on Tuesday, March 21. That has failed to materialize, but he is still expected to be indicted this week.

Nonetheless, the former president is in “high spirits” over the prospect and wants his possible arrest to become “a high-profile affair for maximum exposure,” according to sources cited by Page Six.

“They are very pumped about this … The Manhattan DA, NYPD, and even the Department of Justice were trying to work out a quiet handover coordinated with the Secret Service — and Trump was having none of that. If an indictment and arrest happens, he wants it to be public,” said one source close to the former president.

“[Trump’s staff will] try and film and document it with their own camera crew, they want a shot of him in cuffs and will release the mugshot. They are loving this stuff,” the source added.

Other sources told the news outlet that in his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump is “reveling in being back in the news and the center of attention [since] he thinks this ‘trumped-up charge’ will help him with his base.”

At the same time, the report reveals that Trump and his campaign are “nervous” about the widely anticipated presidential candidacy of Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump himself announced his third White House candidacy in November.

According to the quoted source, Trump’s team believes his arrest would boost his campaign since “this will show that the Dems are out to persecute Trump.”

“Trump will be getting all the media. He will argue he is the leader of the party and has the best shot against [President] Biden, which is why he is being attacked … His people are licking their chops, they are pumped. Next thing he’ll be doing is a rally,” the source explained.

Earlier, a New York Post report cited sources as saying that the Secret Service and the New York Police Department are getting ready for Trump’s indictment in Manhattan.

“Trump appears in high spirits and exudes positive energy,” said a source about the situation at Mar-a-Lago.

“He’s busy rallying the members to his side both on the golf course and in the club’s dining room and walkways … Wherever he appears, it’s a mini-campaign rally with people greeting him, surrounding him, voicing their support,” the source added.

“Trump gives the thumbs up to everyone who calls out his name. He shakes every hand, and the Mar-a-Lago crowd is super supportive of him. No one has ever heard anyone boo or turn their back or refuse his handshake,” the source revealed further.
