(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Following the recent conflicts the U.S. and China have constantly, now the opponents are battling as the communist country is banning critical minerals exports to the United States, exposing a glaring vulnerability in America’s military supply chain.
The communist regime’s stranglehold on antimony, a vital metal for producing artillery shells and other military equipment, threatens to cripple U.S. defense capabilities and jeopardize national security.
This alarming development underscores the urgent need for America to secure alternative sources and break free from China’s dangerous monopoly.
China has announced a ban on the export of gallium, germanium, antimony, and “superhard materials” to the country.
This move, which includes stricter reviews on graphite exports, is a direct response to U.S. restrictions on the Chinese chip-making industry.
The banned minerals are crucial for manufacturing semiconductors, LEDs, solar cells, fiber optic cables, and various military applications, putting American industries at risk.
China’s dominance in the production of these critical minerals is staggering. The communist nation controls a significant portion of global antimony reserves and has recently imposed export restrictions, dealing a severe blow to U.S. supply chains.
This strategic move aims to impair America’s ability to produce advanced-node semiconductors with military applications, potentially compromising our national defense capabilities.
Moreover, this ban’s implications are far-reaching, affecting not only the defense sector but also consumer electronics, renewable energy, and telecommunications industries.
U.S Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo said in a statement:
“This action is the culmination of the Biden-Harris Administration’s targeted approach, in concert with our allies and partners, to impair the [People’s Republic of China’s] ability to indigenize the production of advanced technologies that pose a risk to our national security.”
While the Biden administration claims to be taking a “targeted approach,” America’s dependence on Chinese minerals has reached a critical point.
Antimony, in particular, has regained its strategic status reminiscent of its significance during World War II.
Once a leading producer, the United States now relies heavily on imports, with China controlling the majority of global antimony reserves.
The consequences of this supply chain vulnerability are already evident. Due to supply constraints, this metal’s price has surged over 200%, with predictions of further increases.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, some American companies are taking action. Military Metals Corp. is acquiring antimony assets in North America and the EU to reduce reliance on Chinese supply.
The company has secured the West Gore Antimony Project in Canada and the Trojarova Project in Slovakia, both of which have significant historical reserves.
These efforts are crucial steps toward ensuring America’s military readiness and breaking free from China’s economic stranglehold.
As tensions between the U.S. and China continue to escalate, it is clear that the Biden administration’s weak stance on China has left America vulnerable to economic warfare.
