(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – All 50 Democrats in the US Senate plus Vice President Kamala Harris voted to defeat a motion by GOP US Senator Marco Rubio, which stated that only women can get pregnant.

Rubio’s motion, a budget-reconciliation bill amendment, was designed to restrict federal pregnancy programs to only biological women and would have rejected “gender-inclusive” terms promoted by the Democrats such as “pregnant people.”
The amendment sponsored by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) was part of the voting marathon on President Joe Biden and the Democrats’ $740 billion package on climate, taxation, and healthcare, the so-called Inflation Reduction Act.
Even though every Republican Senator backed the amendment, Vice President Kamala Harris cast her tie-breaking vote as President of the Senate to defeat it 51-50.
“Federal funding should reflect reality: only women can get pregnant. Unfortunately, it looks like my Democrat colleagues don’t trust ‘the science’ after all,” Senator Rubio declared in a statement after the vote.
“So far every single pregnancy has been a biological female,” he said on the Senate floor, referring to 5,500 years of recorded human history.
“The only thing I’m trying to do is make sure that federal law is clear, that since every pregnancy that’s ever existed has been in a biological female, that our federal laws reflect that, and our pregnancy programs are available to the only people who are capable of getting pregnant: biological females. Very simple,” Rubio argued.
If passed, his amendment would have stipulated that only women can be considered pregnant for federal maternal and infant-related program funding.
The Florida Republican’s motion was attacked by Democrat Senator from Washington State, Patty Murray.
“Let’s be clear about what’s going on here: This is a procedural attempt by Republicans to derail our ability to get this bill across the finish line and deliver for families in our country,” she stated.
“It’s actually outrageous that Republicans are trying to talk about pregnancy when in this country right now, they are forcing women to stay pregnant no matter their circumstances, pushing cruel and extreme abortion bans,” Murray insisted.
Democrats argue that “trans men,” that is, women claiming to be males but still have a uterus and ovaries, can get pregnant – hence the Democrat allegation that men can get pregnant.
