VIDEO: Even Bernie Sanders Slams Biden

(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Far-left Democrat US Senator from Vermont Bernie Sanders has launched a scathing attack against President Joe Biden over Biden’s visit to Saudi Arabia, a nation whose human rights record is highly criticized.

You can watch the video of Sanders further down this post.

Biden went to Saudi Arabia amid hopes that the Saudis would agree to increase their oil output, which would help reduce gas prices and overall inflation in the United States.

Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, the President had a fist bump with its ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

Western nations, including the US, have widely criticized Bin Salman for allegedly ordering the murder back in 2018 of Jamal Kashoggi, a critic of the Saudi regime and a contributing writer for The Washington Post. Saudi operatives killed Khashoggi in the country’s consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, where his body was dismembered to be disposed of more easily.

In a heated interview for ABC News, Sen. Bernie Sanders blasted Biden for going to Saudi Arabia and meeting with Bin Salman.

“You have a leader of that country who was involved in the murder of a Washington Post journalist. I don’t think that that type of government should be rewarded with a visit by the President of the United States,” Sanders argued.

When asked whether Joe Biden’s visit to Saudi Arabia isn’t justified by the need to bring down gas prices in America, the Vermont US Senator shifted the issue to what he described as scandalous profits by US oil companies.

“I am sure that is why [Biden] went [to Saudi Arabia], but the truth of the matter is that when we are looking at the outrageously high cost of gas at the pump right now, we’ve got to look at… the oil companies’ profits [which] in the last quarter have been extraordinarily high,” Sanders insisted.

“I happen to believe that ‘We’ve got to tell the oil companies to stop ripping off the American people, and if they don’t, we should impose a windfall profits tax on them,” he added.

The progressive Democrat lambasted the Saudi rulers as “a family that’s worth $100 billion which questions democracy, treats women as third-class citizens, and murders and imprisons its opponents.”

“If this country believes in anything – we believe in human rights, we believe in democracy, and I just don’t believe we should be maintaining a warm relationship with a dictatorship like that,” Sanders concluded.
