(TheLastPatriotNews.com) – Twice-failed former Democrat US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has posted a video statement accusing the Republican Party of a backstage plot to “literally steal the next presidential election.”
You can watch the video further down this post.
Clinton made her accusations against what she called “ring-wing extremists” in a two-minute promotional video for Indivisible, a far-left progressivism advocacy group formed in 2016 to undermine former President Donald Trump.
“Right-wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election. And they’re not making a secret of it,” the former Democrat First Lady alleged in her video address.
“The right-wing-controlled Supreme Court may be poised to rule on giving state legislatures — yes, you heard me correctly — state legislatures the power to overturn presidential elections,” she added.
Her coup accusations against the Republican Party come while the US Supreme Court is about to hear Moore v. Harper, a case that could boost state legislatures’ role in regulating federal elections, Fox News reported.
The case is based on a lawsuit by the General Assembly of North Carolina, led by the GOP, over a state court ruling that revoked congressional redistricting.
In it, the North Carolina lawmakers make the case that state legislatures have the sole authority to regulate federal elections under the US Constitution. Moreover, they insist state legislatures can do so without state constitution or court oversight.
In her coup plot accusations against the GOP, Hillary Clinton claimed that state legislatures controlled by the Republicans could determine the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.
She did not mention the Moore v. Harper case explicitly but seemed to allude to a possible US Supreme Court ruling in favor of the North Carolina General Assembly.
“Just think, the 2024 presidential election could be decided not by the popular vote, or even by the anachronistic Electoral College, but by state legislatures — many of them Republican-controlled,” Clinton stated.
The former Democrat US Secretary of State then announced a far-left initiative to prevent an alleged Republican “coup.”
“But there’s also good news in the face of this very real threat to democracy. Indivisible has launched “Crush the Coup” to make sure we’re ready to defend democracy in 2024,” Clinton said.
She urged Democrat supporters to donate as much money as possible to the progressivist group and left-wing state legislature candidates.
For years, Clinton and her allies have been advancing claims that the 2016 presidential election, in which President Donald Trump soundly defeated her, was “stolen” from her.
“I think it’s also critical to understand that, as I’ve been telling candidates who have come to see me, you can run the best campaign, you can even become the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you,” Clinton stated in 2019.
